Il nuovo programma d’azione comunitaria in materia d’istruzione dell’apprendimento permanente, Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) si basa sulla Decisione n. 1720/2006/CE del Parlamento Europeo e del Consiglio del 15 novembre 2006 e persegue l’obiettivo dello sviluppo  della società mediante un insieme di iniziative da realizzarsi in stretta collaborazione con gli stati membri.
Da questo a.a. 2007/2008 l’LLP sostituisce il precedente programma Socrates e si presenta con una serie di modifiche sulle azioni dei programmi settoriali, compreso l’Erasmus che ne fa parte.
E’ dal 1997 che l’Accademia accede al progetto Erasmus ma è negli ultimi tre anni che ha contratto accordi con numerosi Istituti stranieri, triplicato il numero delle mobilità degli studenti Erasmus e avviato quelle dei docenti, così consolidando nella dimensione europea l’istruzione e l’arte verso una migliore conoscenza della cultura e delle lingue europee. Ciò ha permesso di rinnovare la carta universitaria Erasmus (EUC) rilasciata dalla Commissione europea, carta valevole fino al 2013 che dà il diritto a partecipare al programma Erasmus, nonché a presentare domanda di finanziamento per le attività decentralizzate e centralizzate che sono:
•    mobilità di studenti a fini di studio (Student Mobility),
•    mobilità di studenti a fini di tirocinio (Student Placement),
•    mobilità di docenti per attività didattica (Teaching Staff Mobility),
•    mobilità di personale docente e non docente per formazione (Staff Training),
•    Programmi Intensivi (Intensive Programmes);
•    Progetti/Reti Multilaterali e Misure di accompagnamento.

INFORMATION FOR INCOMING STUDENTS

ADMISSION
The procedures of acknowledgment for international entry students  are managed and administrated by the Erasmus Office of the Academy of Lecce and are planned depending on the bilateral agreements, according to the rules and deadlines of the Erasmus plan. The Erasmus students acknowledged to attend a period of studies in our Academy are duty-free; anyway, the acknowledged students are duty –bound to acquire their own material, like colours, brushes and canvases, just like they were regularly enrolled students. The exchange students are advised to contact the coordinator at their home university to get more detailed information and application forms for exchange study. The filled application form together with a student’s portfolio and a motivation letter must be submitted to the Institute in observance of the deadlines, which are as follows:
September 4 for the autumn semester                                        
January 8 for the spring semester.

LANGUAGE
The courses carries out in Italian. Anyway the Academy guarantees a tutor, who at the beginning will also follow the entry student in the simultaneous interpretation of the discourses between him and teachers. The Università del Salento contracts to provide the students with a free course of Italian.

COST OF LIVING
According to recent calculation, the total monthly living expenses for a single student in Lecce is around 450 euro. This sum represents minimum living cost, which includes accommodation, food, necessary clothing, transport and school supplies. (come misura si indica il costo di un caffè che è di 0,70 centesimi di euro) Students expecting to spend money on travel, entertainment, specific health care needs, etc. should consider accordingly larger expenses.

HOUSING
The our Academy not have a student dormitory. Most students, who are not Lecce residents, rent apartments and rooms in the private sector. Rent for a single-room apartment with a bathroom and kitchen in Kaunas starts from euro 170-200 per month.
In some cases, the Academy is at student’s disposal to search a private accommodation for them; sometime it could happen that  the exit Erasmus students live their room free during their stay in the partner Institute.
The students of the Academy of Lecce, who are out to study abroad instead should read what indicated in the Erasmus showcase of the Academy.
